Assignment #7 - Arya Hodjat

For this assignment, I chose to take pictures of the University of Maryland's bi-annual clothesline project. All of these pictures were taken October 23, 2019 (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
The project aims to bring awareness of the prevalence of sexual assault on college campuses — especially this one. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
It occurs twice an academic year — once in the fall semester, and once in the spring semester. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
Survivors of sexual assault — or others affected by it —write messages on the shirts, which are then hung around Hornbake Plaza. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
Some choose to address their friends, their loved ones, their fellow survivors. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
Some choose to address their attackers. But all of them are signed by University of Maryland students. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
The event is hosted by CARE to Stop Violence, a group under the university's health center dedicated to stopping sexual violence on college campuses. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback).
The shirts tell the story here. (Arya Hodjat/For The Diamondback)
